Submission Guidelines

We welcome submissions for our Feature Article section, as well as contributions to The Reel LowDown, Cite Seeing and Caught in the Web. We encourage you to peruse our site carefully to get acquainted with the type of content we publish and general tone of LowDownCentral. Not everything we post is funny, but if your writing makes us laugh, it goes to the head of the line.

If you would like to submit an article for consideration, please use the following guidelines. We only accept submissions from the original author of the article. By submitting material, you acknowledge that you are legally entitled to distribute the work and allow it to be redistributed. It must be accompanied by a short cover email introducing yourself, describing your article, and containing your contact information, i.e., email address. Please include a brief bio (not more than a paragraph) and/or tag line about yourself (that may appear with your article).  Include the words: "Article Submission" in the e-mail subject line so that it is not filtered as spam.

We welcome strong, thoughtful arguments by skilled writers who want to put their work before a politically-savvy audience. We do not currently compensate for articles, and do not accept articles that are primarily advertisements. A well-written article will be your promotion piece.

Articles should be submitted by email in Arial font size 10, checking submissions for character accuracy (before submitting). Embedded URL hyperlinks and footnotes are encouraged. If you make a statement that isn’t common knowledge, particularly of a statistical nature, always back it up with hyperlinks to the source material. We would appreciate it if you use paragraph returns to separate paragraphs and not automatic indents or fancy formatting. Your submission must use proper English, i.e., spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Articles should be between 600 and 1,200 words.

Please remember, not all submissions will be accepted for publication. Articles will remain the intellectual property of the author. Please do not be offended if we cannot use your piece. If your submission is selected for publication, you will be notified prior to its use.
